1960's , Simon and Art Garfunkel

If you are a fan of the 1960's era, you shouldn't miss Arthur Ira Garfunkel songs. He is a complete personal who has achieved several feats during his career. The American Song-writer, poet, actor is best known for being a member of the folk duo Simon and Art Garfunkel.

The duo released their first album "Wednesday Morning 3 A.M" on Columbia records in October 1964. It was not a big hit and the duo split once again. However after the efforts of producer Tom Wilson who personally modified the famous song "Sound of silence" from their album which went to become no.1 in billboard lists that year, Simon and Garfunkel reunited the same year. The duo went on to make four more successful albums in the subsequent years which included several hits like "Bridge over troubled waters", "Mrs. Robinson", "Scarborough fair", "Cecilia", and the most well known "the boxer" etc.

In the next following years during the 1970’s the duo went on separate ways to perform solos. However, whenever it was feasible they always reunited every now and then for concerts around the world. Both their names were felicitated by including them in the Rock and Roll hall of fame in the year 1990. And ever since they remain to be the best of friends who has made several smashing hits of rock songs. In 2003, they received Grammy Lifetime achievement award which led to a US tour in the same year followed by a 2004 international encore which culminated in a free concert at the Colosseum in Rome which was their final concert. Even at that age they attracted several fans from all over the world which numbered to about 6, 00,000 in total.

I.O.M.C is at it again.
We asked our viewers another question,Who is the greatest musician/singer of all time?
This time many of us could not predict a clear winner because of the choices.But once we knew about the winner,we realised that the winner deserved it more than anyone else.He is also famously known as the 'King Of Pop'.
Michael Jackson Aka The King Of Pop was voted as the greatest musician of all time.He is the ultimate entertainer who single handedly changed the entire course of Pop Music when the whole pop music industry was in dire straights.His music changed the world and the amount of charity work he has done is a world record (most charity work done by a celebrity).
His most uncertain death was a disaster to music fans all around the world.The King Of Pop is no more,but his music is 'invincible'

All-Time greatest Rock Band!

I.O.M.C recently asked its viewers to vote for the band that they think is the greatest of all time.
Many Bands, both from the 20th and 21st century, like Coldplay,Green Day,Linking Park,The Rolling Stones,Led Zeppelin,Queen,U2,Nirvana,Red Hot Chilli Peppers,AC DC,Mettalica and The Doors were in the contention.
But there was only one clear winner,which was not too tough to guess!
The beatles were voted as the greatest Rock Band of all time and yes indeed they are.None of the other bands have changed the course of 'Rock n Roll' like they have.Their music will always live!

'Pink Floyd' Once More.

Pink Floyd and EMI Music, whose association dates from 1967, announced a comprehensive release schedule, to be launched on September 26, 2011, encompassing CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray discs, SACD, an array of digital formats, viral marketing, iPhone Apps and a brand-new single-album ‘Best Of’ collection.

The legendary band, who are still one of the most successful and iconic artists of all time, recently signed an agreement with EMI which has allowed the development of a multi-format programme of packages, many containing archive material that has been collated during an extensive process between EMI and Pink Floyd for a range of media formats.
Pink Floyd fans can sure hope for one hell of a time when their 'best of' album is released later this year.The Legendary Band redefined Classic Rock in the 70's and is still considered to be one of the Best Bands by many , with Hits like 'Comfortably numb' , 'Another Brick In The Wall' , 'Hey You' to name a few.

Adele's '21' At Top.

Just a few days after Eminem's Recovery became the first album to sell more than a million digital sales,Adele's '21' has also hit the milestone.Also,it has raced past Recovery in digital sales in the process.
'21' which was released earlier this year becomes the 2nd album in Music history to have hit the 1 million mark.It is also the album to have hit the 1million mark the fastest and the first by a woman to achieve this feat.'21' digital sales tally now stands at 1,017,000 compared to Eminems 1,005,000.
'21' continues to be the overall best selling album of this year with millions of copies sold worldwide.It has spent No.1 postion in US Billboard top 200 for 10 weeks(non-consecutively) and has not dropped below the 3rd rank.
The albums first single 'Rolling in the deep' spent 7 weeks at the peak of the US Billboard Hot 100. This week 'Rolling In The Deep'  became the year's best selling digital song, with 4.23 million sold.

Rihanna Goes Past Lady Gaga!

R&B Star Rihanna has overtaken Lady Gaga to become the most popular female artist in Facebook!
According to a social media statistics site,Rihanna passed Lady gaga on thursday ,with the barbados singer currently having 40,598,000 fans compared to Lady Gaga's 40,565,000.
However,Lady Gaga's twitter account has 11.1 million followers which dwarfs that of Rihanna's 6.1 million followers on the site.
The only other music artist who currently is ahead of her in fan numbers is her 'Love The Way You Lie' collaborator Eminem who has more than 43 million followers.
